Dirt Jump Blue Prints
But now I'm climbing a great album from a band that recently began to listen and has a long career of over 20 years of existence. Recognized worldwide for its tremendous way of writing and excellent musicians have even more modes that are among the best in the world, Dream Theater is a progressive metal band that at times includes sounds and even symphonic thrash songs, giving a peculiar and unique style that no other band of its kind has. Above it is a true progressive and experimental sounds drastic weather changes difficult than driving in them. Despite all of this really are generally recognized in the world genres, as in the progressive rock among other genres or performed by the band are relatively unknown.
was started at Berklee in 1985 by three students, and the name comes from the idea of \u200b\u200bthe father of drummer Mike Portnoy, since with its experimental name "Majesty" had legal problems. Hence, movements have been vocal in regards to 1991 and keyboardist until 1999, though all these movements have been successful doing just that one of the vocalists (Chris Collins, who helped found the band) did not participate in any recording Dream Theater public.
This album was released today I bring in 2003 and is one of the most heavy and metal that made the band throughout their career side but without the virtuosity and melody that characterizes them. Train Of Thought is presented with the following cover:
As is typical of the band has always used images with strange concept for their album covers. What we always find in Dream Theater are guitar solos that really draw sparks, are fast without going to stick and are melodic, and battery work with fear, since it takes so much juice Portnoy to his enormous drum kit.
Then show pictures of instruments of each band member.
With regard to the songs much to say:
- 'As I Am': This is a job with a very progressive sound start, but then comes to the heaviness that is rarely heard in the band with a guitar rhythm that is quite sticky and the Also endorses the bass, creating a dark atmosphere that by joining with James LaBrie's voice can find a song by heavy cutting and atmospheric enough without even making use of keyboards. We can also find some excellent drum work that can amaze anyone listening with attention.
- 'This Dying Soul': Go ... rarely found in songs such progressive work but it is possible, we can hear a battery all hype, a rather elaborate guitar intro and if I'm wrong ... a keyboard (or continuum? keyboard leave it in this review) with experimental sounds very virtuous, but then grasps the body characteristic progressive band with calm and a vocal melody giving all it deserves. But then again grab thrashtero body with a heavy sound that is characteristic of American thrash bands.
- 'Endless Sacrifice': A beginning guitar too good for those who like to play guitar is worth to be heard, and a keyboard attached properly. This song has a full body progressive, peaceful and melodic ... of principle, because it never leaves a touch of metal and then grab the body faster and heavier but this time without leaving your progress and strange sounds. We noticed this time a keyboard solo from guitar is pretty good, giving each one of theirs to judge which is more complex y. .. Believe it or not there is also a very good bass in the background.
- 'Honor Thy Father': An excellent drum work, guitar quite thrashtera, excellent bass and complicated, and too weird time change can be found at the beginning of this song. Progressive body takes between stanzas but only the voice as this time the tools are what make your hard work. You can also listen to a battle between guitar and keyboard sound that is quite fun to hear.
- 'Vacant': A song sound quiet and poignant, with use of other instruments such as cello and leading to accompany this time the piano and bass. This time no hear guitar but the above instruments, and passive and emotionally LaBrie singing. A song itself, short.
- 'Stream Of Consciousness': we detect that this is a continuation of the previous song, playing keyboards, guitar and bass heavy sound. This is an instrumental piece where we can hear all the instruments of the band making the rounds in complex ways, giving each one charmingly self and in which we hear for the first time the complete fusion of progressive after listening to the heavy weight and escalation beyond the disk.
- 'In The Name Of God': To close the disc, we will listen to heavy disk this time providing the bass sounds complicated. After that this time I heard a Dream Theater considerably darker than ever, that character has assimilated into the gothic times but never to end, absorbing the sounds of "Symphony X" or "Scar Symmetry". A brilliant way to close this super job ... that really is not over until the next album, because the piano that we hear at the end of this song is heard at the beginning of the next album, something very strange that it is rare to make a band.
Maybe if you're not a big fan of prog you like, since the incorporation of sound that this band outstanding metalhead has at its roots is present more than ever, which in his other works is not so common to see.
