I hesitated a lot when choosing the subject of my first post after the reopening of the blog. The weekend left several interesting issues: the game of the season, the referees, the signings of late, the mess of television ... So I decided to start with one that has nothing to do, or maybe yes "to the above.
Shortly after closing the stall I got an email from Juan Manuel Rodríguez , Head of Sport Cadena COPE on me "grateful" to read him even though one of my previous posts will qualify as Taliban . In short, content of these mixed messages is not important, but I will say that one of them told him, in my opinion, is sports journalism few exceptions, the lower quality and less stringent of all gossip aside. Roncero, Guasch, Carazo, Jose Vicente Hernaez or Mascaró are some examples of level suffer from readers, although they no longer address book Louis .
The television landscape has slightly improved with the disappearance of "Maracana" and, especially, of "Rondo", the pot of cricket fans among which stood out with its own voice (and too high) the figure of Roberto Gomez.
And the radio? The traditional polarization Radio Night (Garcia / de la Morena, de la Morena / Abellán) continues, although there are some attempts (Onda Cero, Punto Radio, regional field stations) to eat ground to the two large batteries for hearing.
However, in recent years is under way Radio Marca, the first radio station devoted entirely to sports theme and a prominent blogger who Sevilla called, no doubt affectionately, "Big Red Eme Handling."
I think "sports radio" as it proclaims, should do more to offer many hours of sports information. You should get it was also quality. In my humble opinion, get it halfway, but I see two major shortcomings: the magazine of the late (Intermediate, led by Paco García Caridad) and the evening program (world record), the head of which is Agustín Castellote. While both are old dogs in the world of radio, there is a substantial difference between Charity and Castellote. The second you know the days when he was lieutenant José María García in the COPE and, although not of the best commentators around the world, you can see a thread of continuity in his career.
Charity is something else. It is also a radio veteran whom I remember as a delegate of sports Antena 3 Radio (I think in Las Palmas, because Daniel was Llagüerri Zaragoza), when Garcia headed the sports at that station. He perpetrated the worst football telecasts of memory (in this case and in A3 TV) and I must admit that after those matches on Monday I lost track. Until about a year, when scanning the radio dial of the car appeared on 89.1 FM, the frequency of Radio Marca Barcelona. We hear from time to time I do not know if it's because I only do it in the car or simply because it puts me in a bad mood, "but I concluded that Charity has not changed. He wanted to move the classic pattern from midnight to four pm and, worse, you think you are José María García, which leads him to practice a style that prevailed for several years but it sounds as stale and overcome (though what takes today is so pathetic that .)
But little beyond the domain of radio language (does anyone know of any other program whose tuning rings for more than three minutes continuously without the announcer says a peep?) And its low level to drive a program rate three hours, Charity is the radio equivalent of the star journalists (?) that populate the sports and do nothing but degrade the quality of this release. Fosters the audience participation through SMS messages and ignores most of the time ( priceless anecdote he picked up in their day Sports Bar) with questionable criteria to choose "representatives" of various teams in their gatherings (as of Rafael Carrasco as Barça, is priceless ... what this man knows football, cycling great director to be? is it not their visceral hatred for anything that sounds like Laporta?) practiced and is excited demagoguery guidelines that marks his media group (his defense of the cover of Marca "We want free football" no where to get it, and he knows it) and, though "not like to mix sport and politics", jump at the jugular of those who think like him.
I like the concept of sports radio, "mostly because I am a compulsive radio since I have a point. But I think, and again it is my opinion that while not rejuvenate the project becomes more plural and be given a free hand to the new generations of journalists in the house (Pablo López, Pablo Juanarena, Vicente Ortega ... even someone from the periphery ) does not do more than perpetuate the steady decline that plague sports journalism in this country. But do not worry Charity: even for this masochism and the sufferer vocation that defines us to the Catalans and the mattress makes them cousins \u200b\u200bto us, from time to time will keep listening.
